‘SouthDoc campaign’ moves to Mitchelstown

When an emergency arises, it’s critical that people have access to a doctor, nurse or paramedic. By their very nature, emergencies can happen at any time and the provision of out of hours service, ‘SouthDoc’, was a means of providing medical cover after dark.

From what we understand, plans are afoot to reduce the service, which could have very serious consequences for those in the Fermoy/Mitchelstown catchment. 

The latest in a series of protests, opposing these plans, took place in Mitchelstown last Saturday. It was led by public representatives, Kay Dawson, Frank Roche, Deirdre O’Brien, Frank O’Flynn, William O’Leary and Noel McCarthy.
