With housing rarely out of the news and is very much a hot topic in Government circles, there's good news to report this week in relation to the Fermoy catchment, with the official sod-turning ceremony taking place at Crann Árd, Pike Road on Wednesday afternoon.
In attendance were main contractor, Michael Lyons Snr of Michael M Lyons Building Contractors, his son Michael Jnr and wife Mary, along with council staff and public representatives from the Fermoy Municipal area, councillors Deirdre O'Brien, Noel McCarthy, Kay Dawson and Frank O'Flynn.
The sod was formally turned by Mayor of County Cork, Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy, who was fulsome in his praise of this local authority project.
