The sod was turned last Tuesday on the new residential development by Respond which includes 46 homes for mixed tenure and older people, and 1 communal building at Duntahane, Fermoy.
Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy and Minister David Stanton, were the men with the shovels who officially marked the beginning of the much anticipated development works.
This project is in partnership with Cork County Council and the Housing Agency and funded by the Housing Finance Agency.
The development is due to take approximately 15 months to complete.
