The progress to date and plans which have been drawn up for the development of their club grounds, made by ambitious soccer club, Kilworth Celtic FC, will be outlined at a public meeting to be held this Friday night, April 19th in Heaphy Grove.

The 5 acre facility, to be known as Sheila Flynn Park, is located on the outskirts of the village at Moorepark East and to date, feedback towards the project has been very positive. Proposed facilities to be incorporated into the site include 2 full sized soccer pitches, an astroturf floodlit training area, dressing rooms, as well as car parking facilities. While the perimeter of the grounds will see a jogging/running track being incorporated, allowing the public to benefit from yet another facility.

Club chairman, Gus Shanahan, this week told The Avondhu that feedback from all quarters will be taken on board, “The club is working to provide another amenity for the village and welcome input from individuals and groups. We welcome community involvement in this project, and the club’s engineer will be present on the night to answer any technical queries that people may have.”

Commencing at 8pm, all parishioners are invited to attend and have their say on what is yet another giant step towards the provision of extra sporting facilities in Kilworth.
