Unwanted weight gain is an issue that affects all age groups – left unchecked, it can lead to serious health problems. Being a healthy weight is something everyone should aspire to.
One of the major problems facing those hoping to shed the pounds is a myriad of ‘miracle diets’ that seem to exist, they promise so much, but rarely if ever, deliver. Invariably, people give up and instead of losing weight, people lose hope. Slimming World is different.
Well established and with a track record of success when it comes to weight loss, Slimming World, sets realistic goals, outlines a sensible weight loss programme, monitors progress and offers constant encouragement. It also has numerous testimonials to back up its claims.
Slimming World in Mitchelstown
The good news for The Avondhu readers is that Slimming World is up and running in Mitchelstown (as well as Fermoy, Tallow, Cappoquin, Watergrasshill etc).
Classes in Mitchelstown take place in Forrest Hall every Thursday and are overseen by local lady, Joanne O’Flynn.
Joanne’s association with Slimming World is very personal. Unhappy with her own weight, she enrolled in a Slimming World class and thanks to the necessary guidance she experienced very real results.
Unrecognisable from her former self, Joanne is now a staunch advocate of Slimming World’s methods.
“The classes in Mitchelstown have proved very successful, public reaction has been positive and things are going from strength to strength,” she told The Avondhu when we visited recently.
We also got to talk to some class members, including Anne Cunningham and Sharon O’Dwyer. Both ladies were fulsome in their praise of Joanne and Slimming World.
“It’s a friendly and constructive atmosphere where you get a lot of support. I really look forward to the Thursday classes and would recommend them to anyone looking to lose weight,” Anne says.
Sharon is also delighted with her decision to join up.
“I’ve found it very beneficial and am really happy with how things are going, Joanne is very passionate and is a real inspiration to everyone” Sharon said.
