Silver medals for Galbally & Fermoy handballers at World championships

Originally from Mitchelstown, Tómas Donegan who plays with Galbally Handball Club, returned to Ireland to a hero’s welcome after competing in the 2015 World Handball Championships in Canada.

The 2015 World Handball Championships which were held in Calgary in Alberta, Canada from August 11th to 21st featured matches from multiple venues, played out over an action packed schedule.

The championships are held every 3 years and see the best handball players from around the world compete.

This year was no exception with players from over 25 countries descend on the venue including Tómas Donegan from Galbally Handball Club who is originally from Mitchelstown.

He and his playing partner Paddy Donovan (originally from Hospital but living in Portlaoise) did extremely well to advance to the world final in two competitions ...
