5 brands in contention for top global van title

From the nine Light Commercial Vehicle brands with nominated models selected by the International Van of the Year jury, five brands/models have been shortlisted for the final election to chose International Van of the Year 2017 (IVOTY).

Three of the finalists are completely newly designed and developed vans, namely the Hyundai H350, Volkswagen Crafter and the co-shared PSA Peugeot Expert/Citroen Dispatch (Jumpy) and Toyota Proace.

The two vans shortlisted are the latest Euro 6 versions of the Ford Transit Custom and Iveco Daily MY2016.

“As we mark twenty-five years of the International Van of the Year, it is great to see that yet again we have another fine collection of new Light Commercials to select the overall winner of the most prestigious title in the industry, International Van of the Year 2017,” stated Jarlath Sweeney, Chairman, IVOTY.

The Volkswagen Transporter6 won the IVOTY 2016 award last time (pictured).

The official announcement and presentation of the annual award will be made at the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover, Germany on 21 September 2016.
