Two armed and masked men threatened and restrained a male shop assistant at gunpoint during a raid at the Top Oil Service Station in Cahir on Sunday night last.
The men, who were armed with handguns, entered the South Tipperary service station shop on the Cashel Road at around 10.30pm just before it was due to close.
It is understood that a large sum of cash was taken during the raid.
A Cahir Garda Station spokesman said both men were armed and their faces were covered.
They threatened the male shop assistant at gunpoint and restrained his movements to prevent him raising the alarm.
The Garda spokesman appealed to anyone who witnessed the robbers entering or leaving the service station or who may have seen suspicious activity on the Cashel Road last Sunday to contact Cahir Garda Station at (052) 7441222 or the Garda confidential hotline on (01) 6662017.
