Minister of State at the Department of Education and Skills and East Cork TD, Seán Sherlock, has welcomed the confirmation that St Colman’s will benefit from emergency works that will greatly assist the proud sporting tradition in the St Colman’s school community.
“I am delighted that my department is able to commit to funding to present some significant works at St Colman’s in Fermoy. The works will include the construction of two new changing suites for students, one for teachers and new visitors’ toilet. I have been in constant contact with school management on this issue and I am delighted that we are now at the point that we can provide modern, safe and secure facilities for students and teachers,” the Minister said.
The works will comprise of 2x40m2 changing suites including a WC and shower, 1x12m2 universal access and tutor use changing room with WC and shower and 1x10m2 visitors universal access WC.
“This funding will not only provide peace of mind to students teachers and parents, it will also create jobs and local spend in the economy showing that my work in the department is having real and lasting effects on the people of Fermoy and will do so for generations for come. I look forward to the work starting as soon as possible,” Minister Sherlock concluded.
