Readers who have been recently (or long time) bereaved are reminded this week of a service of light and healing being held in Fermoy on this Sunday (29th). In this sad time, an event like this can help lift, even in a small way, the darkness that fills one's soul and mind.

The venue is the Blue Nuns' Convent on Monument Hill. It will take place from 4 to 6pm and is organised by the Emmaus Bereavement Support Group.

Sr Una explains that the service is designed to provide a safe, confidential environment for people to connect with the loved one that has passed over and, as a follow up, it's planned to run a six-week support group beginning on Thursday, October 17th, running until November 21st, meeting each week at 7.30pm. Further courses are also planned.

In general, it is important that people who are feeling down or have a sense of despair know that they can still access services in a timely way. Remember too that the Samaritans is always available – around the clock, every day of the year – to listen.
