South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) received a call on Sunday, May 23 to respond to an incident in which a walker had collapsed on Galtymore.
According to a SEMRA spokesperson, the casualty was part of a walking group that had a number of trained medical practitioners that were able to assess and comfort the casualty on site.
“The lady was part of a walking group and took ill on top of Galtymore which led to her subsequently passing out. Fortunately, amongst her fellow walkers was a GP and nurses and they managed to provide initial medical assessment and made the wise decision to call for assistance,” a SEMRA spokesperson told The Avondhu.
