Castlelyons 1-21 Milford 0-12
Hitting down to the village on Friday evening for the division two intermediate hurling clash of Castlelyons and Milford one could see the lights were shining brightly in Páirc an tAthair Peadar Ó Laoghaire a sign of the modern era in Castlelyons for hurling and football.
It was a dry evening and the pitch was in great condition with the lights ideal. These days the Milford ladies are tops in the camogie while the lads were traditionally strong so there was good interest in the game.
The two teams lined out strong and Ronan Bransfield landed a point from play, but the Milford full forward pointed from play and a free. However, Anthony Spillane back again after injury set up Aidan O’Sullivan who made no mistake in finding the net and then Aidan almost immediately sent over another point.
Shane O’Sullivan made a good save when faced one on one and we gradually began to take over in many positions. Shane Moroney worked tirelessly especially on the puck outs and Darragh Lawlor added a point from out the wing.
