Search for missing Kilworth girl continues

Volunteers and emergency services resumed the search early on Sunday morning for a 15 year old girl, who went missing in Kilworth on Saturday evening (6th).

As darkness set in on Saturday, the coastguard helicopter, Rescue115, could be seen hovering in the vicinity of the village late into the night. Many local volunteers joined in the search as word spread, with events being co-ordinated from the GAA grounds in the centre of the village. The young girl was named as local, Tara Young.

‘Unfortunately, there is a 15 year old girl missing in Kilworth tonight, her name is Tara Young and there’s is currently a search happening in the village to find her. All help is greatly appreciated,’ an online post read.

While a statement from the coastguard read: ‘RESCUE115 is now safely back at Shannon after tasking to area near Kilworth Co Cork for a missing person search, full search completed & nothing to report so RESCUE115 stood down to RTB Shannon’.
