Adult members of clubs from throughout east Cork were in Lisgoold Community Centre last Sunday night for the divisional finals of Scor Sinsear.
While some clubs take the competition more seriously than others, most of the disciplines were keenly contested with the solo singing and question time attracting very large entries.
Bean a ti, Aisling Cuddigan did her customary professional job and overall proceedings ran very smoothly. Cork County Board's cultural officer, Kieran McGann thanked everyone associated with hosting the event and all those who took part.

The results were as follows: amhranaiocht aonair (solo singing) Ger Clifford (Lisgoold) r/u Abbey Ni Lionsigh (Cobh); ceol uirlise (instrumental music) 1st Cobh, r/u Killeagh; scealaiocht (recitation) 1st Michael O'Riordan (Killeagh), r/u Francis Connery (Lisgoold); leiriu (novelty act) 1st Bride Rovers; bailead ghrupa (ballad group) 1st Watergrasshill and trath na gceisteanna (question time) 1st Glenbower Rovers and r/u Bride Rovers.

The quiz master was Tony McAuliffe from Lismire. The 'best overall' club award was shared jointly between Bride Rovers and Cobh. Winners and runners up from last Sunday now progress to the county finals in Ovens on Sunday March 9th.
