The principal of Kilfinane's Scoil Pól Michael O’Hara, announced this week that a new larger bus for the school year ahead has been purchased. There are currently 25 students using the service, leaving room for more students to avail of it in the future, as it seats 33.

It wil primarily serve the Bruff areas, taking in Kilmallock and Knocklong, via Martinstown, bringing students to Scoil Pól daily. The principal told The Avondhu that after the daily route is completed, the bus will prove to be an invaluable asset for taking class groups, such as Transition Years and Leaving Cert Applied groups on educational outings and trips.

"There will also be a large demand on the bus to serve all of our school teams from ladies football and camogie to boys hurling and football. Following a very impressive year last year, we are hoping to continue our development in all codes and be competitive at all age levels," Mr O'Hara added.
