It was a Monday like no other, with young people bounding from their beds, boarding buses and making a beeline for their local school. Covid-19 restrictions aren’t over, but the re-opening of schools represents substantial progress.

A real buzz was evident across the region as March 1st finally arrived, as bright and early young pupils awoke from their home-schooling hibernation, to once again prepare to step into their classrooms and playgrounds and join with friends and teachers on their educational adventure.

From what The Avondhu witnessed, children simply couldn’t wait to immerse themselves in primary education, something clearly evident on the youngsters’ gleeful faces.
