Remaining with the same organisation for over a decade is becoming rarer these days which makes Mary Fitzgerald’s (nee Begley) 42 years’ service to Synergy Credit Union more remarkable.
Mary Fitzgerald, a Fermoy native from St Joseph’s Square, joined the credit union as one of its first employees in the mid-seventies.
The country was in recessionary times and the Credit Union movement was beginning to be recognised as true force of good which enabled its members to strive for financial freedom.
