Bolster Cup win for Castlelyons’ Tony O’Sullivan
The HSE Newcastle West 5k race took place on Friday last, 19 April with 121 runners taking part. Paul Aherne was the only representative from the club in this one and had another great run, finishing 34th in 22:36. Other race results are not yet available and will be included in next week’s notes.
The Great Limerick Run is just around the corner. Best of luck to all Kilfinane AC runners who have been training hard in recent months and indeed to all taking part, in what is sure to be a great event on Sunday, 5 May.
On Saturday, 4 May as part of the Ballyhoura Walking Festival, Kilfinane is hosting a marathon with a difference. The Ballyhoura Marathon starts from Kilfinane at 8.30am with a challenging marked 26.2 mile route traversing forest track, open mountain and riverbanks through the scenic landscape. Return to Kilfinane Education Centre for showers and dinner. Brand new route this year. Alternatively, there is the half marathon route which begins at 10.30am. www.visitballyhoura.com for details.

Other races coming up in the next few weeks include: Friday, 26 April Kilmallock 5 Mile, Feet on the Street Series, 7pm. Saturday, 27 April Friends of Limerick ’73 5K Pallasgreen, 7pm. Sunday, 28 April Mt Hilary. IMRA League, Banteer May 1, Cahir 4 Mile Road Race, 7.30pm. The Kilfinane AC 5 Mile takes place this year on Friday, 21 June at 7.30pm. Online entry will be available shortly on Run Ireland.
TRAINING
Training continues each Saturday in Dromin at 9.30am. Wed. evening interval training in Dromin is changing to 7pm from Wed., 24 April.
