Steven O’Leary from Fermoy was part of the Sunday’s Well Rebels team that claimed gold in the first ever Mixed Ability Rugby World Tournament, held recently in the United Kingdom.

The Rebels, who are Ireland’s only mixed ability rugby team, beat the host team, the Bradford and Bingley Bumble Bees, 26-19 in the final, with Steven being recognised as joint man-of-the-match in the trophy game.

Around 400 players took part in the week-long tournament, with the Cork outfit managed by former Munster lock, Maeve Darcy. Well done to Steven and the Sunday’s Well Rebels on their fantastic win.
