Councillor William O’Leary has called for urgent action from Cork County Council to come up with a solution to the ongoing issue of full bags with domestic waste inside, being left on the green section of the Dun Éala Estate, Fermoy.

The councillor made his plea at this week's meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District Council, where he labelled the issue ‘a health and safety risk.’

Cllr O’Leary said that some of the large Skippo bags dotting this estate ‘are legitimate, in terms of the people using them are carrying out refurbishments inside their homes,’.

On visiting the estate earlier this week, The Avondhu counted three such bags at various locations on communal green areas and outside private residences in Dún Éala.
