Eolann Sheehan of Fermoy Rowing Club has been recognised by the Cork Sports Partnership Awards Scheme for his work as a junior volunteer in sport (21 and under category). Eolann was nominated for this award by John Murphy, president of Fermoy Rowing Club and received his award at the awards cermony last Thursday night at the Oriel House, Ballincollig.

A native of Fermoy, Eolann joined Fermoy Rowing Club at the age of 12 and competed in and won races until he was 15 years old when a back injury curtailed his rowing career. He then went on to be one of the club's most outstanding junior coaches and clubman.

Among the judging panel were former Cork footballer Anthony Davis, former hurler Tomas Mulcahy, Paudie Palmer of County Sound and Ted Owens of Cork VEC. Cork Sports Partnership Awards Scheme is run in conjunction with the Evening Echo and Oriel House Hotel.
