Castletownroche rower Pat O’Connor, is to undertake a marathon rowing event along with two other Co Cork colleagues – to row from La Gomera (Canaries) to Antigua (Caribbean) to raise funds for the CUH Charity (Paediatric Unit).

In doing so, Pat, along with Eoin O’Farrell (Ballinlough), Sean Underwood (Blarney) will also attempt to break the Talisker Whiskey Challenge – to row across the Atlantic Ocean in under 35 days and 14 hours.

They hope to raise €20,000 on the trip that begins on December 12 next.

We wish Pat and the lads every good look for a safe journey!
