Residents of Cappoquin have responded with shock to a significant incident of vandalism in the local playground last weekend, where play equipment was smashed to pieces.
Shocked to discover the damage on Monday morning, council workers arrived to secure the playground and clear up within hours. Gardaí have been notified and are investigating to find the culprits responsible.
“So sad to think these people have to be so dispruptive and destroy stuff,” one local stated online. “Where is this violence coming from?”
Many locals were quick to point out the lack of Garda presence in the area, while others suggested that the playground would need high railings and a gate that’s locked at night …
