Cork County Council are being urged to expedite the ‘Taking in Charge’ (TIC) of local housing estates because of the ‘terrible circumstances’ in which residents have to live in.

Cllr Deirdre O’Brien told The Avondhu that is it ‘disheartening’ for residents in estates such as Carraigroe, Lui na Greine and Sliabh Alainn in Mitchelstown to be left in limbo as they wait for proper maintenance procedures to be put in place.

“It is disheartening for residents in these estates experiencing the delay in the 'Taking in Charge' by the Council, it is not transparent and is absolutely appalling. We are talking about peoples homes and the terrible circumstances surrounding them in some cases.”
