On Tuesday, April 9, Fermoy Camera Club were privileged to host esteemed photographers, Scott and Catherine MacBride, from Celbridge Camera Club, who travelled down from their home in Dublin to show a fantastic selection of their photographs and to discuss and share the creative processes which often result in some of the most unique images and which are commercially sought after worldwide.
The Club were also delighted to welcome members of other local camera clubs including Cobh, Mallow, Cork and Blarney.
Club Secretary, Lee Fox, said “We would like to thank all that came along to this event, to those who helped out on the night and, of course, our very special thanks to Scott and Catherine who were so entertaining and willing to share creative ideas, all of which are so often achieved with minimum budgets which has given us bags of motivation going forward!”
In addition to their usual work, the MacBrides have religiously partaken in their very own '365 Project' where they each take and upload to flickr a photo every single day. They haven’t missed a day in well over 2 years and of course, arriving in Fermoy earlier in the day, this was no different. Scott goes one step further. Every single Tuesday is 'Face Down' Tuesday! Anyone on Barrack Hill might have performed a double take while this photo was being taken. Cat and Scott’s work can be seen on flickr at 'CatMacBride' and at 'possessed2fisheye'.
Fermoy Camera Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday night of every month upstairs in the Anderson Room of the Fermoy Community Youth Centre, Ashe Quay, Fermoy from 7.45pm to 10pm approximately.
All new members are welcome. www.fermoycameraclub.net
