The Kent family grave in the grounds of St Nicholas’ Church, Castlelyons and the impressive monument to the Kents in Fr Ferris Park were the focal points for last Saturday’s commemoration.
Proceedings got underway with a short parade led by local piper, Sean O’Sullivan.
At the Kent grave, M.C. Dave Broderick welcomed everyone before reciting a decade of the rosary ‘as Gaeilge’. This was followed by the laying of a wreath by Kevin Barry.
