After a brief closure and around five months of renovation works, Rathcormac Garda Station officially reopened on Thursday last, September 14.

A host of works were carried out on the refurbished station, including making the building wheelchair accessible as well as a number of energy upgrades, but most significantly, its reopening now sees two Gardaí stationed in the village full-time.

Garda Tim O’Donovan and Garda John Noonan are set to be stationed here going forward, covering the Rathcormac area and further afield.

According to Gda O’Donovan, the station is expected to be open five days a week, with cover on the remaining two days falling to nearby substations.
