Ahead of the much anticipated reunion in Lios Mhuire estate in Clogheen, many of the residents and former residents gathered together last weekend to support a fundraising quiz and sponsored walk to raise money for the event.

As children, many of the people in Clogheen would have walked from the village and out to Shanrahan and so, on Saturday last, they got to relive those childhood memories as they recalled the games they used to play and soaked up the sunshine at the well supported walk. Former resident Thomas Quirke, also kindly set the questions for the quiz that night and acted as quizmaster.

The organisers would like to thank everyone who supported the walk and quiz and they are looking forward to the reunion on June 29.

On the day, there will be a marquee, food, music and games, a bouncy castle and a display of old photographs and while it takes place in the Lios Mhuire estate, it is open to everyone and promises to be a great day out, with no charge for anything!
