The detailed cost estimate for Fermoy weir repairs and bypass works and the timeline and costs schedule for the delivery of those works was supplied to Minister Canney and Minister Bruton by Cork County Council, dated 30th November 2018.
However, there has been no reply from either Minister to date and Deputy Kevin O’Keeffe now feels that the letters to the departments lacked detail on costings and design.
The question mark in relation to the documents was raised by Cllr Deirdre O’Brien at the recent meeting of full council at County Hall on Monday morning last where Cllr Frank O’Flynn asked that standing orders be suspended to allow for an urgent discussion on Fermoy Weir which is deteriorating rapidly.
