Publicans rejoice after long awaited return

Monday saw many publicans rejoice as they finally cleared the dust off the taps and rolled in fresh barrels in preparation for their long awaited reopening.

Customers and publicans alike got a taste of the new normal on reopening day for ‘wet pubs’ with a variety of rules and regulations to contend with.

Customers were welcomed to a rearrangement of local bars and pubs in order to make way for 2 metre distancing, stools were banished from the bar in favour of table service, and masked faces and sanitiser greeted the customers upon entry.

Despite the new rules, after a six-month closure, finally being allowed to reopen was a welcome relief.
