RTE's decision to include Mitchelstown's Kingston College in their DIY:SOS series has certainly raised the profile of this historic area.
Critically, it's also given 6 of the houses a new lease of life.
While 'the college' is architecturally important, many of these residences had fallen into disrepair and were badly in need of refurbishment.
Enter RTE, DIY:SOS, nice guy Baz Ashmawy and his crew, along with many volunteers.
The end result has been a whirlwind restoration project by a team of tradespeople and their army of helpers.
