Cork County Council report that at least half of the owners of derelict properties in the Fermoy Municipal District are engaging positively with the council and doing works on the relevant properties, while at least one property has been approved for a refurbishment grant.

Of the 14 properties on the list, seven have given a “positive response” to the council. There is one ongoing legal case, that of 49 Upper Cork Street in Mitchelstown.

Further to those that are formally on the list, the council are investigating 39 other properties, an increase of seven since last October’s update; six of those owners have engaged with the council.
