Members of Post 25 (Fermoy UN veterans' association) were in Fermoy Pitch & Putt Club on Thursday night, July 31st to honour the memory of the late Paul Kevany, a former military police sergeant who was decorated for his peace keeping role in Cyprus.

At the function, Post 25 chairman, Martin O'Keeffe and PRO, Des Keegan presented Paul's 4 service medals to his wife Hannah. Thanks to the efforts of former colleagues, the medals (Regular Service, FCA, Cyprus and Nobel Peace Prize medal) were revamped and enclosed in an attractive frame for safe keeping.

Hannah said the family greatly appreciated the gesture and they thanked everyone who helped make it possible.

Speaking on behalf of Post 25, Martin O'Keeffe said Paul was a fine soldier and devoted family man, who made many friends during his distinguished military career.
