St Colman’s College, Fermoy was awarded Pieta’s ‘Amber Flag’ in May, in recognition of the efforts made by the school in recent years to encourage positive mental health.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Karolyn Ní Dhúnaigh, a teacher in St Colman’s College said: “Colman’s has continually recognised the commitment to promote a healthy, inclusive and positive outlook within our students.”
She added that partaking in the ‘Amber Flag’ initiative had allowed staff and pupils in the Fermoy secondary school to educate their school community on the importance of mental health.
