Following a meeting at the beginning of this month, there are now plans to carry out badly needed conservation work at Duntrileague Churchyard in Galbally, so that the site might accomodate 70 family burial sites.

At the meeting it was decided that conservation works, including removing ivy off the walls will be done by FAS workers, giving them long term work over the course of the autumn and winter.

The meeting was organised by Deputy Patrick O'Donovan and attended by Michael Griffin, Sarah McCutcheon and Gerard O'Connor of Limerick County Council as well as JJ Fahy and Jim Fitzgerald of Galbally Community Enterprise Group.

Within the next month, probing will be carried out at the site and the Galbally Community Enterprise Group are looking forward to more progress on this project very soon.
