Planning permission has been sought to change the use of a public house to an amusement arcade in Mitchelstown.
CLC & Associates, Colm Cashman, on behalf of Perks Promotions Mitchelstown Limited, have applied to change the use of 45 Lower Cork Street, Brigown, Mitchelstown, Co Cork (Weavers) to an amusement arcade with associated signage and alterations to the front facade.
While news of the planning application has been met with caution locally, very few were prepared to openly comment on it ‘as of now’. However, there are some who feel it is a positive move that could bring employment opportunities to the town.
Victoria O’Brien, youth worker with Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services in Mitchelstown however, said an amusement arcade in the town would 'not be good news'.
