Planning permission has been granted for a residential housing development in Watergrasshill after the developers revised their initial application and reduced the number of properties on the estate from 14 to 10.

Cork County Council deemed in May that the application made by Proficient Developments Ltd for a housing development to the north of the village was excessive in scale and recommended reduced the number of dwellings.

The site of the development, located at Bishop’s Island near the existing Ard Cashel Estate, is one acre in size and saw a previous application made by J & R Mulryan Builders Ltd in 2007, that time for 15 dwellings which included apartments.
