Planning on Castlelyons/Rathcormac solar farm appealed

A planning application, for a solar farm and associated site works in the Corrin, Castlelyons and Rathcormac area, has been brought before An Coimisiún Pleanála in a third party  appeal. 

Originally submitted to Cork County Counil by Amarenco Solar Rathcormac Limited, the application sought 10 year planning permission for a solar farm consisting of solar photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames across several locations. It was proposed that the farm be developed in the Corrin, Kill Saint Anne North, Clykeel North, Ballinvarrig East, Ballinvarrig West, Deerpark, Knockaduff,Kill Saint Anne South, Ballyarra, Mohera, Spuree and the Castlelyons area.

Four single storey transformer stations, four single storey spare parts storage containers, a single storey MV electrical kiosk, a 38kV substation compound with one single storey substation building, underground electrical ducting, cabling and joint bays were also sought within the application.
