An Invitation to Luxury Travel and Comfort
The all-new Peugeot Traveller Combispace and Traveller Shuttle will receive their public unveilings at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 this March.
Awarded 5-stars in recent Euro NCAP tests and built on Peugeot’s latest efficient EMP2 modular platform, the Peugeot Traveller offers up to 9 seats and exudes elegance, quality, strength and practicality.
Its Euro6 BlueHDi engines are equipped with the most efficient pollution control technology on the market with a Selective Catalytic Reduction system and Diesel Particulate Filter, to boast CO2 emissions from 133 g/km (5.1 l/100 km) and crowning it best-in-class in the segment. It arrives in Ireland this summer.
Maxime Picat, Managing Director at Peugeot said, “The Peugeot Traveller fully applies the brand’s expansion strategy by positioning us in the growth sectors of the Combispace and VIP Shuttle. Through its innovative design, the Peugeot Traveller gives a new dimension to Peugeot’s upmarket shift.”
Adopting the now-familiar Peugeot LED light signature, an elevated new vertical grille and quality finish right down to the tiniest detail, the new Traveller range has a robust, modern appearance. With a reduced overhang and compact dimensions, it offers easy handling for everyday use.
Available in 3 lengths and combining compact exterior dimensions with internal roominess, a Standard version (4.95m) and a Long version (5.30m) is on offer, whilst a 4.60m Compact version, unique in the segment, comfortably accommodates up to 9 people.
The Peugeot Traveller offers up to 1,500 litres of boot space (up to 4,900 litres with the seats removed). Its height of only 1.90 m is rare in the segment and guarantees the Peugeot Traveller’s entry into covered car parks.
Professionals and private individuals in this segment have different needs, depending on their activities and the people or customers that they are carrying. The Peugeot Traveller therefore comes in 2 ranges, Combispace or Shuttle, each with 2 levels of finish.
A perfect family motoring solution, the Combispace Active and Allure versions are available with 5, 7 or 8 seats. Whether doing the weekly shopping, dropping children to school or rounding everyone up for a family outing, the Traveller Combispace adapts to all family motoring needs, thanks to its multiple sliding or removable seat configurations. A step provides easy access to elevated seating positions.
For rear passenger entry on board, all versions are equipped with motor-operated sliding side doors. Depending on the version chosen, rear passengers enjoy either separate leather sliding armchairs with elbow rests or 2/3 – 1/3 split sliding bench seats, with individually reclining backrests.
A child mirror, aviation tablets on the back of the front seats, sun blinds in row 2, a luggage cover shelf and opening rear window are standard equipment. A multi-functional roof, standard on the Combispace Allure level, includes LED mood lighting, individual reading lights, and soft diffusion climate control, separate from the individual air vents.
Four 12V sockets, a 230V socket and USB port are provided for charging any mobile device. Tinted windows on Allure versions protect passenger privacy, whilst the two separately concealable glass roof panels provide light and a panoramic view of the sky.
For professional people carriers, the Shuttle Business version is available with 5 to 9 seats, whilst a Business VIP version is available with 6 or 7 seats. The Shuttle Business model can be configured exactly according to the professional’s needs and the ease of access to row 3 seats is remarkable; a single control folds the seat back and provides a wide passage to a rear bench seat.
The Traveller Business VIP model offers rear-seat passengers a lounge configuration with 4 separate seats facing one another or 5 seats with the 3-seater bench seat option in row 3. The interior ambience is functional and dedicated to passenger comfort: leather seats, mood lighting, tri-zone climate control with soft diffusion function separate from the air vents and an optional glass roof, unique to the segment. An optional retractable sliding table provides an area conducive to work for a business customer.
The Traveller offers a wide range of latest generation safety and assistance equipment. Hands-free sliding side doors are unprecedented in the market: the doors can be opened or closed with a simple foot action.
The 7” touch-screen can be used to access navigation, telephone and media features, or the driver can choose Voice Recognition. Mirrorlink and Apple CarPlay technology is offered to guarantee a wider range of compatible smartphones. A unique Safety Pack is on offer, combining a Lane Departure Warning, Driving Time Warning, Driver Attention Alert and Road Sign Reading with speed limit recommendation.
Active Safety Brake, Distance Alert and active Cruise Control are combined in a Drive Assist Pack. Automatic Main Beam Switching is enabled at night to automatically switch headlights from main beam to dipped, with oncoming traffic.
VisioPark combines front and rear radar parking equipment to offer a 180-degrees overhead view of the rear zone. Patented by Peugeot, Grip Control is an enhanced traction control system, offering extra grip in snow, sand or mucky conditions and operated from a dial on the dashboard.
Combining carefully managed vehicle weight with Peugeot’s class-leading Euro6 BlueHDi engines allows the Traveller to achieve record fuel consumption levels to become a reference in the segment:
