Permission is being sought for the development of 43 houses in Sliabh Alainn in Mitchelstown, where the project is being pursued by MDR Developments Limited.
The site is in the same area where permission was granted for 24 houses in 2017, a development that was subsequently scuppered by the town’s stressed and fault-prone wastewater treatment system.
The latest planning application was lodged before Christmas and is for nine four-bedroom houses, 30 three-bedroom homes and four townhouses, of two bedrooms each. While documents were not yet available to publically view, the proposed entrance to the new development would be via the existing estate entrance.
