Parish in mourning following PP’s untimely death

The untimely passing of Fr Robin Morrissey, Parish Priest of Castletownroche, was met with shock this week, with parishes he served in now mourning his loss.

Bishop of Cloyne, William Crean, said that Fr Morrissey was a ‘dynamic and vigorous’ presence and will be sadly missed.

“His death is so untimely and so unexpected, it’s a great shock not just to his family but to all of us in the diocese. Robin was a dynamic and vigorous presence wherever he worked. I’m sure the people of Castletownroche and Ballyhooly have experienced that over the recent years. I’m sure it’s been an enormous shock to them,” Bishop Crean said.
