The news that the principal of Colaiste an Chraoibhín Christy Healy, had gone on sick leave as of last week, has caused a level of concern and confusion amongst some parents due to the lack of both clarity and information provided by the Cork ETB.
The parents of students currently attending the school received a text message on October 22nd which read: “Our Principal Mr Healy has decided to temporarily step aside. Management and staff respect and support his decision. Teaching, learning and other school business will continue as normal, to our usual high standard. Your understanding is appreciated. Colaiste an Chraoibhin.”
This message led to a flurry of confusion and rumours and, on investigation last week, The Avondhu were led to believe that a new text message would be sent out to clarify the situation.
However, it is understood that parents have not yet received this new text message as was indicated to this newspaper.
