The Palace Players bring their All-Ireland winning play 'The Quiet Land' back to the stage for just three dates mid April – one in Mallow and two in Kilworth.
Since their All-Ireland win in Letterkenny in December, The Palace Players have been inundated with requests to stage the play again so, on Friday night, April 20, Sean Ahern and Liam Howard (as Nashee and Eamonn respectively), will take to the stage of the Amelian Theatre, Mallow.
They will stage two performances in their home venue (The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth) on Saturday night (21st) and Sunday afternoon (3pm).
As already stated, there is already considerable booking for the three shows, so to avoid disappointment, the advice is to book in good time at one of the numbers below.
'The Quiet Land' focuses on two elderly farmers who meet at a clearing on the hillside between their homes.
Blending a wonderful mix of humour and pathos, Malachy McKenna's play is a celebration of humour, resilience and endearing innocence of an exiled generation as it struggles to survive in the isolated rural Ireland of today.
It's the author's heartfelt tribute to a rare breed of forgotten men who live 'a long way in off the road'.
