The North Cork Referral Group (NRG) will host an open evening for local businesses, groups and interested parties on Thursday, February 15 at 6pm.

The evening will showcase what the group is about, our members and the support we can provide to those in business in the North Cork area.

NRG is a business networking group that meets in Fermoy Community Youth Centre every Thursday morning from 7.30 until 8.30 and consists of a wide variety of entrepreneurs, business owners, tradesmen, employers and sole traders.

The group has seen a steady growth in membership and business referrals in 2017, reflecting the general upturn in the local economy.

“A group like NRG provides an invaluable support to local business people in terms of practical advice, referrals and, of course, there is a large social aspect to the meetings, which is very important, especially for those who may work alone,” says Anne Tobin, the newly appointed chairperson for 2018.

Along with business referrals, the group has also done some fantastic charity fundraising to the benefit of local organisations.

Most recently they raised €14,000 towards the purchase of a much-needed specially adapted bus for Cope Foundation and almost €8,000 from a sky dive and Summer BBQ for Liam’s Lifts.

The upcoming open evening will include a short demonstration by Nutritional Therapist, Linn Thorstensson from Straightforward Nutrition, followed by a presentation on the NRG Group itself.

Finger food will be served (along with some delicious soup created by Linn!) and there will be a business card prize draw on the night!

Anyone is very welcome to attend and there will be information available for any business interested in becoming a member.
