Saint George’s Arts and Heritage Centre, Mitchelstown is delighted to welcome back our friends in the Lismore Choir for our fourth anniversary concert – One Enchanted Evening with Lismore Choir & Guests, on Saturday, May 20th.
This night will feature light classics and pop favourites, showcasing the varied and energetic repertoire of the performers. Joining Lismore Choir on the night will be guests – Sarah O’Mahony, soprano and Frank Ryan, tenor all under the musical direction of John Casey.
Followers of the Centre will remember Lismore Choir performed a memorable inaugural concert in 2019, right at the beginning of this project’s whirlwind adventure. The return performance will be one not to be missed. As with the changes and growth in Lismore Choir over those four years, there have been one or two changes to Saint George’s in that period also.
The Lismore choir is a friendly mixed choir of all ages more than 35 strong. The choir usually performs two major concerts a year; its Christmas celebration at Lismore Castle every December and a Spring concert often in Lismore Cathedral, as well as performing at various community functions in Munster.
Joining Lismore Choir will be one of Ireland’s most revered tenors Frank Ryan from Tallow, Waterford and thrilling young soprano Sarah O’Mahony all under the musical direction of John Casey. Under whose baton choirs have won numerous choral competitions including Cork International Choral Festival, Limerick Church Music International, An tOireachtas, Slogadh and Feis Maitiu, Cork with his choirs and ensembles having performed on both national and international radio and T.V.
The concert (8pm) includes refreshments, patrons are reminded they can also bring their own beverages to further enjoy the occasion. Tickets at €20 are available through Eventbrite, local outlets – Reidy’s Kitchen Market, Roche’s Spar and The Favourite – or by calling 087-8113611.
