North Cork IFA celebrates 70th anniversary

An Taoiseach, Micheal Martin, was the guest of honour at last Saturday night’s 70th anniversary celebration of North Cork IFA. The event, which took place in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown included a sit down meal, speeches, presentations, a draw and entertainment by Handipak, attracted over 200 people.

Speaking to The Avondhu, North Cork IFA chairman, Pat O’Keeffe, said the night had been a great success. 

“The anniversary dinner received tremendous support from all over the county and beyond, we had a fantastic crowd and people really enjoyed themselves, it was a special occasion for North Cork IFA and I was delighted to be so closely associated with it; the icing on the cake was the presence of An Taoiseach, Micheal Martin, who is very supportive of the IFA,” he said.
