There are no plans in the short term to privatise Waterford County Council’s waste collection, a recent meeting of Lismore Town Council was told.

Councillor Bernard Leddy raised the matter. He was told by acting town manager, Paul Daly, that the plan is to continue the collections until 2014 and then review it. “It’s likely it will continue, the service is operating well,” he said, adding that it operates as a viable business.
