Mitchelstown Community Council last week unveiled a new container for the Mitchelstown TUS workers, which was blessed on the Clonmel Road by Canon O'Leary.

Chairman of the Projects Committee for the community council, Sean Joy said that this will now give the TUS workers a base to work from, somewhere to store their equipment and have a cup of tea to take the chill out of a cold winter's day.

He added that this will give them a centralised location, while Sean Finn added that this is very convenient for the TUS workers, as they are in the town and no longer have to have their things brought to and collected from Sean's own farm.

Sean Joy thanked a number of people who have all played their part in making this happen for the community council and the TUS workers.

He thanked Niall Barry of STR in Cloughleafin for giving them the container free of charge and John and Nora Finn who gave them a twelve month rolling lease in the yard to keep the container.

Thanks were also extended to Sam Hyland who transported the container to his yard, where it was repaired by him voluntarily and then it was taken to Sean's farm, where the TUS workers power washed, painted and furnished the container to make it ready for use.

Sean Joy also thanked Dave Myers of Star Fuels who kindly lifted the container into Sean's trailer to be brought to the yard; Ballyhoura supervisors Barry Wilson and Dave Gill, Canon O'Leary who carried out the blessing and John Carey of The Ramble Inn who provided refreshments on the day of the blessing.

Sean Finn congratulated the TUS workers for all that they have been doing around the town in the alleyways, side streets and main streets and he also congratulated AROMA, whom they do a lot of work with, on their awards night this week.
