The final report on the public enhancement plans for Mitchelstown’s Georgian Quarter have been published, and reveal that despite the designs that were presented to the public, no changes at all will be made to New Market Square.
This decision was taken at the request of the six elected councillors, who asked that all works in the square be excluded from the plan.
111 submissions were submitted to the council as part of the public consultation process. 109 of these were from the public, one was from the OPW, and one from the TII.
These were included in the Chief Executive’s report which was published on Monday this week, alongside the names of the individuals or groups who made the submission.
