A member of Cork County Council’s outdoor staff has been appointed to carry out the caretaking duties at both the old and new Kilcrumper graveyards.

The committee of Friends of Kilcrumper Old Graveyard Association, are delighted with the good news and are very grateful to Cork County Council for their support since the beginning of the project last year.

“Everyone is so delighted. It was badly needed. It’s great that all the work that has been done so far will be updated and kept,” committee member, John Murphy told The Avondhu.

There are approximately 25 active members on the Old Kilcrumper committee which is spearheaded by John Fenton.

In just one year, 'Old Kilcrumper' has been transformed by the voluntary work of the committee members who meet at the graveyard once every fortnight to keep it clean and tidy.
